The Half Moon Hanoverian Stud
2009 HAS BEEN A YEAR OF PROGRESS
A number of changes have seen Half Moon moving forward. We now have several of our horses in training in Germany with Stefan Puschmann (top young bereiter) whilst here at the stud we have been joined by Carol Parsons who rode on our Olympic team in Barcelona. It is hugely beneficial for us to have access to such experience.
Julie and half Moon Bertoni kept up his run of qualifying for the Nationals each year since a 4 year old - this year again at Intermediaire 2 and then made the landmark step up to Grand Prix gaining points and being placed at Hartpury Premier League.
Half Moon connections have been flying the flag for us. Bobby Hayler has had a great year with Half Moon Willroy - winning at the Winter Championships and qualifying for the Summer Nationals as well as successes abroad. Half Moon Beaujolais (by Half Moon Bertoni) and Charlie Bultitude have started their affiliated eventing career with cross country clear rounds, while Jennie Pitt and Berati (by Half Moon Bertoni) were 2nd in the Elementary Freestyle at the winter championships.
Amanda Gillman and Half Moon Rosso have had a great year, qualifying for the National Championships as well as the Shearwater Championships. Gill Jones’ lovely young coloured horse by Half Moon Bertoni, Stanbourne Boromir, has made an impressive start to his dressage career with consistently high percentages. Half Moon Bardollino, again by Half Moon Bertoni, was short listed with Rebecca Drane in their first year at Young Riders and also qualified for the National Championships at Advanced Medium.
