About Us
This Stud was set up in 1997 by Jon and Julie Deverill, first at premises in the New Forest and, from 1999, at Forest Lodge Stud, Motcombe, Shaftesbury, Dorset.
With over 96 acres, an oversized international indoor arena and a large surfaced, fenced outdoor arena, a designated lunge pen/stallion turn out, stallion unit, maternity unit, youngstock barns and approximately 30 other stables, Half Moon Stud is able to offer its clients a diversity of services.
We breed and produce warmblood horses with the worldclass bloodlines that people usually have to go abroad to find. Serious competition riders need look no further than Half Moon Stud for super moving, well produced youngstock. Our foundation mares boast pedigrees that match Europe’s finest. Our two stallions, Half Moon Bertoni and Half Moon Delicato have fantastic bloodlines (see their individual website pages) and we also outbreed our mares to stallions such as Relevant, Furstenreich, Rosario, Donnerhall, Don Kennedy, Breitling, Wolkenstein, Rivallino, DiMaggio and so on.
Although dressage is our main interest, several of our horses’ bloodlines lend themselves to jumping. We have horses of various ages from foals upwards and usually have a small selection of horses under saddle available.
