About Us

Jon & Julie Deverill

The Stud was set up in 1997 by Jon and Julie Deverill, first at premises in the New Forest and, from 1999, at Forest Lodge Farm, Motcombe, Shaftesbury, Dorset.

Jon and Julie Deverill enjoying their other passion for Grand Prix Formula 1

With 98 acres, an oversized international indoor arena and a large surfaced, fenced outdoor arena, a designated lunge pen/stallion turn out, stallion unit, maternity unit, youngstock  barns  and approximately 30 other stables, Half Moon is able to offer its clients a diversity of services.
Whilst breeding a small number of horses from proven dressage bloodlines, the heartbeat of the stud is built around training, shows and competition.

Jon is the enthusiastic supporter and takes a keen interest in the venture when he is not away working in the International Shipping and Forwarding  Industry moving bulk liquids around the world.

Julie worked as a General Manager in the same business and, on occasions in the past, she and Jon have just been passing through airports in different directions.  Julie competed up to Inter 2 with Spiderman before starting her long term partnership with Half Moon Bertoni which has seen them qualify and compete at the National Championships each year since 1996, culminating at Grand Prix level and 7th in the Inter 2 Championship in 2010.
