Foundation Horses – a Tribute

Half Moon Bertoni

In 2013 we said goodbye to Half Moon Bertoni.  He was the start of Half Moon Stud and a fantastic competition stallion for me. We competed at the National Championships every year from 4 years old up to 18 years old and at every level from the Potential International Dressage Horse Championship up to Grand Prix.

HM Bertoni

He won the British Horse Foundation award for the Leading Young Dressage Stallion in 1999 and with his many wins, including regional and national titles, he amassed 600 points.

HM Waldfee

The year before, 2012, we said goodbye to Waldfee, our very special foundation mare and particularly noted for being the mother of Half Moon Delphi.

She was awarded the Horse and Hound Outstanding Mare Award in 2013 for her amazing contribution to British Breeding with her first 5 foals already achieving advanced level dressage.

Now extra special, being by Bertoni and out of Waldfee, is Half Moon Bardolino.  Owned and ridden by Becca Drane he was best of Brits on the British Junior Team that went to Poland as is currently successfully competing international small tour.

HM Bardilino

Bertoni is represented by a number of offspring and we do have a small amount of frozen semen still available.  Waldfee has produced 12 foals and we have 2 full sisters to Half Moon Delphi who we hope to continue the bloodline with and fly the flag in the competition arena too.
