Half Moon Newcomers and News Update for 2010

In 2010 we have been well represented by our youngsters as well as Half Moon Bertoni now winning at Grand Prix. Half Moon Juniper was purchased from us by Jules Pepperday as a yearling.  Ridden by Hannah Biggs, she qualified at Addington for the International 5 Year Old Young Dressage Horse Championship and was second at Hickstead in the Semi Finals and 5th in the 2010 final.  She won the Shearwater Qualifier at Moreton for the 2010 5 Year Old Shearwater Championship and was 5th in the Championship at Hartpury.

Half Moon Revelation also qualified and represented us in the Shearwater 5 Year Old Championship.  Revelation is the year younger full brother to Amanda Gillman’s Half Moon Rosso who has had another outstanding year with scores up to 85% and just missing out on qualification for the Summer National Championships.  Half Moon Willroy has been winning at PSG level , qualified for the Summer National Championships and was reserve for the British Junior European Dressage Team 2010.  Half Moon Bardolino is on the Young Rider squad with Rebecca Drane.  Bardolino’s father, Half Moon Bertoni continued his run of qualifying for the Championships each year since a 4 year old.  Now 18, he qualified this year for the Intermediate 2 and Grand Prix Championships, coming 7th in the Intermediate 2 Championship.

We have brought Half Moon Delphi and Half Moon Dynasty back from Germany and they are now based with the Eilbergs.  We hope to see them out competing here in the UK in 2011 and hopefully, they will raise our expectations for the full brothers and sisters we have growing up in the barns.

Laureano also arrived at his new home here.  Previously owned and at stud with Gestut Vorwerk, this lovely young stallion is intended to be Julie’s next competition horse behind Bertoni.

The stud facilities are in demand  –  with the weather as it is an indoor school is getting more important than ever.  Tracy Collis has joined us with her team and more recently Sheena Kozuba-Kozubska has arrived.  With the continued support of Carol Parsons and Helen Bell this means the yard is virtually full and it is motivating to have 6 horses trained to Grand Prix level here.
